'I HAD ONE TOO'
The online platform for women to share abortion stories.
One year after having an abortion, Angela Cooper remembers the sense of shame. Not only shame, but shock that she would feel this way. The 29-year-old had grown up in a liberal, pro-choice family, and had worked as sex ed teacher, publicly supporting reproductive rights. She thought that if anyone would be pragmatic about having an abortion, it'd be her. It didn't work out that way. Angela later told her story to the young founders of a new online platform set up to "change the narrative" around reproductive health through "addressing the stigma and misinformation surrounding abortion"

Women and girls in Palestine face a number of difficulties and challenges. The ongoing occupation and lack of sitting government as well as high unemployment has led to poverty and inequality, while an increasingly conservative society and traditionally patriarchal culture has led to increased gender-inequality and lack of access to sexual and reproductive healthcare. The current abortion law unfairly pushes women to risk their lives and health to attempt to end their unwanted pregnancies in unsafe ways.
