I’ve never had an abortion but my mum told me a few months ago that she had one before I was born and the only other person who knew was my dad. She was close to her mother and still didn’t feel she could turn to her for support. I am lucky that I feel I can talk to her when I’ve needed the morning after pill or when I got my coil fitted but I wish she had been given the same support.
